Get involved with the Easingwold Players
A play does not exist with actors alone, a large back stage team is required for set construction, so much easier with the permanent stage, lighting, sound, costumes, props needed, where can the Players get the painting the set and scenery, front of house help, so many jobs to be done in connection with a production or a show.
Anyone interested can let the Players secretary, Susan Rinaldi-Butcher know, telephone 01347 822733, but full details of dates and venues will appear in the summer.
The Players also arrange theatre trips, anyone interested in going should leave their details at the Galtres Centre office.
The Players also carry out training for young actors and all aspects of drama on a weekly basis and held at the Galtres Centre.

“CAROUSEL”
Some great shows are touring in 2012, and the first one, soon to be followed with news of “Oliver” and “Phantom of the Opera”, is Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Carousel”, at the Leeds Grand Theatre on Thursday, May 10th, 7:30pm.
Voted best musical of the 20th century by Time Magazine, “Carousel” features some of the most powerful music for the stage, including the immortal “You’ll never Walk Alone”, “If I Loved You”, and the joyful “June is bustin’ out all over”. A story of true love and the tragedy of feelings left unspoken, this classic American musical is deeply touching and captures everyone’s heart.
Opera North are presenting the musical, and it is scheduled to go into the West End later this year.
Billy Bigelow asks for permission to be sent down from heaven for one day to try and make amends for mistakes he made in life. Billy worked as a carousel barker, which is where he met Julie, he was fired and he and Julie got married.
Billy got into bad habits when he couldn’t find a job, and when Julie told him she was pregnant, he felt compelled to somehow find a way to support his family, but the only option seemed to be falling back into crime with his old pal Jigger.
Strong advice to bring some tissues, it is a most moving musical.
The cost of the tickets are £29-63, strange price I hear you say, that is because I booked them way back in November last year, which allows a 25% discount on the top prices (£39-50) for these seats, dress circle and stalls.
To guarantee the price of the tickets, I have to pay for them by early March.
The coach cost will be about £9, paid on the night, leaving Easingwold Market Place at 5:30pm.If you want to go on the trip, please complete the tear-off slip below and return to me, with a cheque payable to EASINGWOLD PLAYERS, or leave it in an envelope at the Galtres Centre office, marked for my attention.
