VISIT Easingwold- Yorkshire at its best

Bank - Nat West Bank

DESCRIPTION

Our local Nat West Bank has a useful 24 hour cashpoint and is situated opposite the Post Office on the north side of the Market Square. Recently the staff won an award for their freindly service, so please do come in and meet them! If you look upwards at it\'s weathervane, you will see the shape of a boot. This is because the bank currently stands on the site of an old bootmaker which kept Easingwolders shod for many years. The leather was obtained from the town tannery which was also located nearby - at the top of Tanpit lane, no less!

It's a fact

Easingwold once had the shortest railway line in England (2.51 miles) but was closed in the 1950’s. The former Station Hotel still stands (now a private house) but the lines have long gone, The name lives on in the nearby “Station Court” housing estate
