THE 2010 GALTRES FESTIVAL!

The Galtres festival on 28th and 29th august, looks to be the festival to go to this year. Festival organisers are delighted to announce that the Forest of Galtres Festival will be going ahead this year over two whole days on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The venue will again be at the Village sports fields at Crayke, near Easingwold, the place where the Festival was born five years ago. We are back this year at an even larger event with 40+ Real Ales, Real Milds, Real Lagers (really!), Cider, Scrumpy and Perry, Wine and a soft drinks bar!

For music lovers, have we got a surprise for you! With real traditional dance and folk musicians, and loads of Jazz, Folk & Rock bands , you will be hard pressed not to get up on your feet. Something for everyone in fact!

Festival of music and dance

We're in for something very special again this year - 30 bands on two stages over two full days - headlined by ... well just look at the poster above!

The main stage programme on the Saturday and the Sunday will run from 11am to 11.00pm, and the acoustic stage from 11.30am to 11pm. Other acts may well be performing in the beer marquee and around the Festival site -  following JiggaWatt's storming impromptu set last year we're going to have more of this.

It's a fact

In the summer, come into Easingwold Market Square for the annual Easingwold Fair. Starting with a public Fun Run organised the Town Scouts, followed by a festival and Brass Band Concert organised by the local Lions club, with the bands marching around the Market Square well into the evening!
